I dunno if this really is a song that i play when I’m feeling sad, but it certainly makes me sad when I play it. It’s a song about the breakdown of a relationship, and just the feeling of total loss, not just the relationship, but how to handle the situation. The chorus says “there’s no storybook, there’s no user’s guide, about this kind of time” then goes on to say “oh tell me what happens now, if you go and live with another man? oh tell me what happens now, cos I can’t live in a broken home” Those lyrics matched with Sid’s sense of desperation in his voice as he sings it? That shit kills me every time.
